AKIPRESS.COM - President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov greeted the participants of the opening ceremony of the International exhibition and scientific conference "The main directions of development of the energy industry of Turkmenistan" , which kicked off in Ashgabat on Sept 12, Turkmenportal reports. "Today, a number of countries are showing great interest in cooperation with Turkmenistan in the field of electric power as energy consumption is growing all over the world. This shows the growth of the international authority of Turkmenistan and the great importance of the energy sector in the development of the national economy. Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan power line is also being laid along with Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India gas pipeline. The implementation of this project has a great importance not only for the participating countries, but also for the whole region," said President.
Foreign companies and businessmen interested in developing cooperation in the energy sector attended the event.
