The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce & Industry (SCCI) recently met with a high-level delegation from the Republic of Tajikistan and discussed prospects for joint cooperation and increased trade exchange, as well as opportunities for economic partnerships with the business communities in Sharjah and Tajikistan in a number of important sectors, Trend reports with reference to Khalee Times news agency.
This came during a meeting hosted by the SCCI recently, in the presence of Waleed Abdul Rahman Bu Khatir, SCCI's second vice chairman; Dzumakhonzoda Dzamshed Dzurakhon, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tajikistan; Mohammad Ahmed Amin Al Awadi, SCCI's director general; Bahodur Sharifi Mahmudzoda, the Ambassador of Tajikistan to the United Arab Emirates; Ilhom Abdurahmon, consul general of the Republic of Tajikistan in Dubai and Northern Emirates; Adel Sangov vice chairman of Tajikistan Chamber; and Jassim Al-Mutawa, consultant of Relations with the Commonwealth of the Independent States.
Waleed Bu Khatir expressed the SCCI's aspirations that this meeting would be a new start towards wider prospects for economic cooperation between the UAE and Tajikistan. Bu Khatir highlighted the importance of paving the way for businessmen to explore possible cooperation prospects and the available investment opportunities on both sides. This would help enhance and deepen the bilateral and economic ties, thus reflected positively on the trade exchange volume between the two friendly countries.
"The emirate of Sharjah has become a key economic hub in the region and also a destination to the global companies willing to penetrate the regional markets, thanks to Sharjah's motivational investment climate and a competitive work environment under a developed legislative umbrella," Bu Khatir noted.
The encouraging environment of the emirate of Sharjah helps companies to develop their business and boost their revenues, as part of the emirate's vision to broaden the production base of its economy and to develop the non-oil exports. Bu Khatir pointed to the great opportunities to promote the economic, trade and investment cooperation between the Republic of Tajikistan and the emirate of Sharjah in various sectors, noting that the relationship between the Arab countries and Central Asia countries is a solid one at all levels. Such a relationship which is based on historical ties and solid culture that contributed to providing an important example of mutual work.
"The SCCI is ready to provide all forms of support for Tajik companies willing to invest in Sharjah. This support has many aspects such as providing all advantages and facilities, as well as offering advice to the businessmen and guiding them towards the most competitive sectors with high export capacity. In addition to providing all forms of logistic support to develop the commercial and economic relations between the UAE and Tajikistan," said Mohammad Ahmed Amin Al Awadi.
