Kyrgyzstan took the 96th place among 141 countries, having scored 54 points, in the Global Competitiveness Index 2019, compiled by the World Economic Forum.
Over the year, the republic moved one position up - the 97th place and 53 points in 2018.
The Kyrgyz Republic has the best indicators in terms of ICT adoption (65th place), macroeconomic stability (74th place) and business dynamism (78th), and the worst - in terms of innovation capability (129th place), market size (125th place), product market (115th place) and development of financial system (118th place).
Singapore took the 1st place in the ranking this year, the USA - the second, and Hong Kong - the third.
Russia took the 43rd place (66.7 points), Kazakhstan - 55th (62.9), Armenia - 69th (61.3). Tajikistan lost two positions and took the 104th place with 52.4 points.
The last places in the ranking are occupied by Congo, Yemen and Chad.
The Global Competitiveness Index is a global study and accompanying it ranking of countries in the world in terms of economic competitiveness, which is estimated by representatives of the World Economic Forum on the basis of 12 different factors. The World Economic Forum defines national competitiveness as ability of a country and its institutions to ensure stable economic growth.
