Tokayev bans construction of ski resort in Kok-Zhailau plateau

AKIPRESS.COM - President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during his working visit to Almaty said that he is against construction of a ski resort in Kok-Zhailau plateau, Tengrinews.kz reported. During the session on social and economic development of the city, the head of state noted that any plans to build their ski resorts are a problem.
All professional environmentalists and society are also against this, the President noted.
In April 2019, Tokayev approved the proposal to cancel the Kok-Zhailau project on construction of a ski resort.
Then mayor Baurzhan Baibek offered to terminate the ski resort project for consideration of experts and residents of the city.
