Kazakhstan concerned over trade investigations of Ukraine

AKIPRESS.COM - Authorities of Kazakhstan express concern over trade investigations from the Ukrainian side, Vice Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan Zhanel Kushukova said at the meeting with the Ukrainian delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Development of Economy, Trade and Agriculture Taras Kachka, Sputnik Kazakhstan reported. The Kazakh side during the meeting noted the importance of protection measures of Ukraine regarding the Kazakh producers, manufacturers of roller bearings and mineral fertilizers.
"The Kazakh side expresses concern over safeguard investigations carried out by Ukraine. The market of Ukraine is traditional for the Kazakh producers of rolling bearings and mineral fertilizers and establishment of barriers against supply of these goods from Kazakhstan might seriously deteriorate the economic situation of the Kazakh producers," Kushukova noted.
There is only one plant in Kazakhstan producing rolling bearings, which last year won the tender on supply of bearings to the Ukrainian railroads. The average annual import of bearings to Ukraine amounts to 2.1 thousand tons.
Mineral fertilizers are produced by two plants in Kazakhstan that export 113 thousand tons of this in average in a year product to Ukraine.
In the respond, the Ukrainian side raised the issue of anti-dumping investigations carried out by the Eurasian Economic Commission and trade measures that are applied by some EAEU member states against the Ukrainian goods.
