President Jeenbekov offers to hold events on environmental diplomacy

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov during the forum in honor of the 75th anniversary of the Foreign Ministry of Kyrgyzstan and cooperation of Kyrgyzstan with the UN suggested to hold events on environmental diplomacy. The forum is taking place in the Ala-Archa state residency.
The head of state said that Kyrgyzstan is a country with a special eco tourism potential and clean products.
The country is doing efforts to preserve and develop the status of Kyrgyzstan as an environmentally clean country and make it as a national brand.
"Therefore, our diplomats and state bodies are tasked to strengthen the new direction - the environmental diplomacy. This means a bilateral and multilateral cooperation with the foreign countries in the sphere of environmental protection, prevention of ecological crisis, prevention of activities that harm the nature," Jeenbekov said.
The head of state urged the government to work out events on environmental diplomacy, including the priority areas he earlier outlined.
