Avalanche protection station on Dolon pass to be built by end of year

AKIPRESS.COM - The construction of avalanche protection station on the Dolon pass will be completed by the end of a year, said deputy director of State Weather Forecaster Ryskeldi Asankojoyev on air of Birinchi Radio on Nov 12. According to him, it is also planned to build such station in Chatkal district at the expenses of Japan grant.
Asankojoyev added that Kyrgyzstan had 8 avalanche protection station during the Soviet times, however in 90s 5 of them were closed and 3 stations remained.
"We decided to build additional weather station on Ala-Bel pass due to the arising problems on the passes. We are discussing the organization of post in case of avalanches threats," he said.
