AKIPRESS.COM - Director of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry of Kyrgyzstan proposed the Issyk-Kul regional governor to consider the issue of removing the landfill in Karakol town to a more safe place during his working visit to Issyk-Kul region.
Mirslav Amankulov as part of his trip visited the Karakol forestry and the Karakol state nature park. In Ak-Suu nursery he got acquainted with the activities and condition of the nursery and administrative buildings. In the Manas park, he planted seedlings of the Tian-Shan fir.
According to the Agancy, there are 5 forestries, 2 state nature parks, 2 state nature reserves with the territory of 1 million 131 thousand 245 ha. This year, they were given 141,831 seedlings for greening and beautification of the region.
Amankulov and governor of Issyk-Kul region Akylbek Osmonaliyev and heads of the relevant services got acquainted with the Karakol landfill and waste treatment plants.
The dump is located on the territory of the Karakol rural municipality in 5 km from Karakol town.
The town is home for 90,000 people.
Amankulov offered the governor to think of the issue of relocating the dump to more safe place, far from the populated areas. He also raised the issue of establishing 4 types of waste sorting containers and construction of the rubbish recycling plant.
