AKIPRESS.COM - Vice Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Altynai Omurbekova took part in the event on occasion of the International Human Rights Day in the Kyrgyz Republic, the government reported. "Kyrgyzstan should become a country of equal rights and opportunities," she said while speaking.
Protection of human rights plays an important role in providing strategies of sustainable political, economic, social and cultural development, according to her.
"The Constitution of Kyrgyzstan proclaims that the rights and freedom of a person are supreme values," Omurbekova said.
She reminded that the Kyrgyz government in 2003 announced December 10 as the Human Rights Protection Day in the country.
The Vice PM underlined that Kyrgyzstan as a member of all basic international treaties on human rights will continue improving the mechanisms on protection of righst and freedom of a person and implementation of the international commitments in this field.
