10,000 Kazakhstanis vote for adoption of law on responsible care of animals

AKIPRESS.COM - 10,000 Kazakhstanis signed a petition for adoption of a law on responsible care of animals, the press service of the KARE-Care fund reported. The voting is ongoing on zakonanimal.kz website.
The campaign was organized by animal rights activists of the country.
A number of collected votes will be recognized as a number of residents agree to sign the petition to President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
The zoo activists have been demanding to adopt the national law in responsible care of animals for a long time.
"Our fund is receiving a lot of appeals on brutal treatment of animals by people for more than 10 years. We want to show how our society is ready to change the policy of animal killing and irresponsible attitute towards animals by this campaign. We also want to draw attention of authorities to the need to adopt a law on animals, which will allow regulate a number of socially important issues concerning the animals," President of the fund Yuliya Kovalenko says.
