President Tokayev awards military officers for elimination of blasts in Arys

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has awarded the military officers, who participated in elimination of consequences of explosions in the city of Arys, the Ministry of Defense reported. A solemn ceremony was held ahead of the Independence Day of Kazakhstan. The state awards and certificates of gratitude were handed over to 42 servicemen for excellent execution of their military duty, courage and dedication.
The Ministry said that such a number of military officers were awarded for the first time in the country.
Among those awarded were also soldiers, who were executing their duty and risking their lives within two months, when explosions were still happening in Arys.
A huge blast on the territory of ammunition warehouse in Arys occurred in the morning of June 24 this year. Residents were evacuated and returned to the city on June 29 after completion of cleanup works in the city from ammunition.
