Japanese backpacker seen in Osh begging for money

AKIPRESS.COM - A Japanese backpacker was seen in Osh begging for money from locals to continue his journeys, local man Zamirbek Orozahunov said.
He said he spotted a Japanese traveler near the city mosque, where he was asking for money, and took his phone number to help him.
Maksatbek Orozaliyev, a leading specialist of the social development department of the Osh mayor's office, said that they reached out to the Japanese citizen by the phone.
"We asked him where he came from and what problems he had. He introduced himself as Pon. We called the tourist police and travel agencies. They helped him with the accommodation in the hotel," Orozaliyev said.
The Japanese man told local police that he is begging for money in order to travel, it's his hobby. The money given to him by strangers help him to continue his journeys.
"First we thought that the foreigner was robbed, but he had his documents with him and said this is his hobby," spokesperson of Osh police Zamir Sydykov said.
