AKIPRESS.COM - Member of the Bishkek City Council Adisa Imangaziyeva today at the meeting proposed the Council to increase fines for violation of environmental norms.
According to her, private saunas and bath houses in winter are heated with various kinds of wastes.
"When they are visited by employees of the State Agency for Environmental Protection and Forestry, they pay fines, but they change nothing. Because the size of fines are funny. For example, the Bishkeksut company was fined 28,000 or 13,000 som, which is a miserable amount for a big plant. These fines should be increased up to 100-200 thousand som. Then they will start thinking of installing filters," she said.
