Kazakh governor rumored to get arrested

AKIPRESS.COM - Administration of the Pavlodar region is working on normal mode, the press service of the head of the region said following the reports alleging that the region's governor Bulat Bakauov has been detained.
Bulat Bakauov is not in office, but he is working in the city, the statement said.
Prior to this statement, the press office of the Pavlodar region head announced about cancellation of two board meetings with Bulat Bakauov in attendance.
On Jan 15, an audio message alleging detention of governor of Pavlodar region actively spread online across Kazakhstan.
Later on the press office of the governor denied the reports.
Bakauov was appointed governor of Pavlodar in March 2016 and his office term was extended in July 2019.
