President Tokayev fires officials in Zhambyl region including heads of police for Kordai incident

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev ordered to relieve officials and the leadership of regional and district police of Zhambyl region of their posts due to the Kordai events, vlast.kz reported.
As a result, governor of Zhambyl region Askar Myrzazhmetov, deputy governor on social affairs Sulushash Kurmanbekov, head of Kordai district Bolatbek Baitol were sacked for serious negligence at work.
In addition, the Interior Minister Yerlan Turgumbayev was ordered to dismiss chief of police department of Zhambyl region Arman Orazaliyev, chief of the police department of Kordai district Azamat Aikhimbekov.
The President earlier said that the employees of state bodies, who let the tragedy occur in Kordai district will be punished.
