Turkmen President receives governor of Saint Petersburg

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov received the governor of Saint Petersburg Alexander Beglov on Feb 13, Turkmen media report.
During the meeting, Alexander Beglov expressed the readiness of Saint Petersburg-based enterprises to supply medicines and build roads in Turkmenistan.
The Governor said the St. Petersburg-based enterprises are ready to take part in the construction of the North-South international railway corridor and the complex of anti-mudflow structures in Ashgabat, provide support in the construction of ships for the Caspian basin, and share experience in the modernization of thermal power plants.
During the official visit, Beglov will also meet with Turkmen Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov and mayor of Ashgabat Yaztagan Gylyjov.
The delegation is expected to visit the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs of Turkmenistan as well.
"It is planned to sign a road map, joint action plan between the governments of St. Petersburg and Turkmenistan for 2020-2025," the statement said.
The delegation of St. Petersburg will also visit the Turkmen-Russian secondary school named after Alexandr Pushkin.
The delegation of Saint Petersburg includes representatives of the city's business circles interested in cooperation with Turkmenistan - heads of enterprises in the road and shipbuilding industries, energy, electricity and water supply, IT industry, and pharmaceuticals.
