Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkey sign joint statement

AKIPRESS.COM - President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan signd the joint statement on the outcomes of the first meeting of the Strategic Cooperation Council.
Several documents on cooperation in trade, economy, technologies were signed, the Uzbek president's press service said.
At the press briefing Recep Tayyip Erdogan said, "We highly value our relations with Uzbekistan built upon strong fraternal ties that have grown to strategic partnership level."
President Mirziyoyev said the first meeting of Uzbekistan-Turkey Strategic Cooperation Council opened a new page in history of friendly relations of the two countries. The sides discussed a broad range of issues of cooperation in political, economic, investment, transport, cultural, humanitarian and other spheres.
"One of the central themes of our dialogue is implementation of joint projects. New projects for more than a billion US dollars are being developed with leading Turkish companies," President Mirziyoyev said.
The sides confirmed similar views on most regional and international issues, including in the framework of the United Nations Organization, Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking Countries.
"We are ready to use all possible opportunities to bring our traditional friendship, large-scale and promising cooperation to a higher level for the sake of peace and well-being of our fraternal nations. These principles have been enshrined in the joint statement signed following the talks," President Mirziyoyev underscored.
