Lawmaker proposes to posthumously award soldiers missing in WW2

AKIPRESS.COM - MP Natalya Nikitenko proposed to develop the state medal for posthumously awarding a number of categories of WW2 participants during the parliament meeting on Feb 20. According to her, the participants of the Great Patriotic War who were considered to be missing but were found during search operations would be awarded a posthumous medal, she said.
State Defense Committee Vice Chairman Nurseit Kedeyev replied that a number of events is planned for the 75th anniversary of Victory in WW2. "Each order or medal has its own status and awarding ceremony. We propose to give letters of gratitude to the bereaved families," he said.
