Parents co-finance half of meal cost at Bishkek municipal kindergartens

AKIPRESS.COM - Provision of meals for one child at a kindergarten in Bishkek costs 60 soms, according to the resolution of the Bishkek local council.
Some 29 soms are allocated from the local budget for meals of each child at a municipal kindergarten under 3 years and 30 soms for children above 3 years. The rest sum is co-financed by parents, except for special preschool education institutions.
Parents transfer their contributions to a special bank account.
There are 86 kindergartens functioning in Bishkek.
Menu accounts the norm of 85-100 g of meat and 400-500 ml of milk a day per capita.
Children are served 4 meals a day, including porridge for breakfast, the first and second courses for lunch, biscuits or buns with juice, yogurt or stewed fruits as afternoon snack, porridge for dinner.
