MFA checking whether Kazakhstanis were in coronavirus-affected hotel of Tenerife

AKIPRESS.COM - The Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan is checking whether Kazakh citizens were in a hotel of Tenerife that has been shut down after a visiting Italian doctor tested positive for coronavirus, spokesman Aibek Smadiyarov said while speaking about the situation in Italy and Iran.
"According to healthcare services of the Canary Islands, two cases of coronavirus infection were registered in this hotel," he said.
The transmitters are two citizens of Italy, who were spending vacations in this hotel. Local authorities decided to quarantine this hotel, Smadiyarov noted.
"Our Consul submitted a request to the Foreign Ministry of Spain. As soon as they reply, we will inform you. To date, more than 10 cases are recorded in Spain," the spokesman said.
About 1,800 citizens of Kazakhstan live in Spain today, including only 673 of them are in a consular registry.
In terms of situation in Iran, Smadiyarov said there are 170 Kazakhstanis in Iran today. 74 of them are members of families of the Embassy employees.
