Uzbekistan to have census at least every 10 years

AKIPRESS.COM - The Senate of Uzbekistan today passed the draft law on population census, Gazeta.uz reported.
The draft law defines census as a periodic process of collection and processing of personal information describing demographic, socio-economic characteristics of population carried out across Uzbekistan or in selected areas.
Census will be held no less than every 10 years. The President will schedule census.
The census results should be available for general public and will be published in local press and on the website of the State Statistical Committee.
The President of Uzbekistan approved the provision on population census that will be held in 2022. The last census was held in 1989.
