President Jeenbekov suspends local council elections

AKIPRESS.COM - President Sooronbai Jeenbekov today has signed the order suspending the local council elections in Batken, Jalal-Abad, Naryn, Issykk-Kul, Chui, Osh regions and Osh city.
The local council elections are suspended in connection with the emergency situation declared in Kyrgyzstan with the purpose to prevent COVID-19 spread.
The Central Election Commission will suggest a date of resumption of the electoral process upon end of the emergency situation in the country.
The order becomes effective since the date of its official publication.
