PM Abilgaziyev on emergency: 'Tough measures will be adopted to those endangering lives of others. Thoughtlessness won't be tolerated'

AKIPRESS.COM - Many people in Kyrgyzstan still have not realized the danger of the pandemic and continue their usual lifestyle, acting irresponsibly, Prime Minister Muhamedkaliy Abilgaziyev said in his address in connection with declaration of the nation-wide emergency in Kyrgyzstan.
"With the purpose of fight against coronavirus, the emergency situation was declared in the country since March 22. Unfortunately, we see that many still do not realize the danger of the epidemic. They act irresponsibly and this way put life of surrounding people at danger," the Prime Minister said.
"Medical professionals say any person may be infected. One person may have a strong health, another may not, it takes up to 14 days until development of the first symptoms of the infection affecting almost the whole world. The virus is not somewhere far away - it is already here, among all of us. This is why you need to be attentive and responsible to the highest degree. Stay at home! This is the main demand of the emergency situation!" the Prime Minister underscored.
The Prime Minister said the decision to declare the emergency was hard. "We made it realizing well that the restrictions will create big problems for functioning of the national economy and everyday lives of hundreds of thousands of people. But there was no another decision, since there is nothing more important than health and safety of citizens," he said.
"We have to take tough, very severe measures to protect health of our citizens. Police forces and local authorities will use all their powers towards those endangering lives of other people! Thoughtlessness will not be tolerated! I hope you will treat the lawful demands of officials with understanding and will provide all possible assistance," the Prime Minister sressed.
