Astana process talks on Syria to be held at ministerial level

AKIPRESS.COM - The Astana process trilateral ministerial talks on Syria will be held on April 22.
The meeting will be held remotely, Russian Foreign Ministry's spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.
"We confirm holding of the trilateral ministerial talks on Syria (Astana process) on April 22 remotely," RIA Novosti cited Zakharova as saying.
The Astana Process Summit was supposed to be held in Tehran with participation of the Presidents of Iran, Turkey and Russia, but it was postponed due to coronavirus pandemic.
The armed conflict in Syria lasts since 2011. The capital of Kazakhstan hosted the talks for regulation of the situation in Syria.
The next round of Syria talks was planned for March 2020 in Nur-Sultan.
Russia, Turkey and Iran serve as guarantor countries of the Astana process.
