Parliament ratifies memo with India on high-altitude biology and medicine research in third reading

AKIPRESS.COM - The parliament committee on international affairs, defense and security of Kyrgyzstan considered and passed the draft law on ratification of the memorandum of cooperation between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and India for collaborative research work on high-altitude biology and medicine signed on 14 June 2019 in Bishkek in the third reading on March 3.
The project aims to further develop bilateral relations in science and medicine, to address high-altitude problems and synergize efforts of researchers, clinicians, doctors in such areas as study of endurance, mental abilities, sleep architecture during adaptation to high altitude, development of the methods improving human adaptation to high altitude with use of locally available natural means.
The draft law will allow Kyrgyz health professionals to apply for $850,000 grant for a 5-year period.
