Parliament Committee ratifies memo with India on high-altitude biology and medicine research

AKIPRESS.COM - The International Affairs, Defense and Security Committee of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan today passed the bill on ratification of the memorandum of cooperation between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and India for collaborative research work on high-altitude biology and medicine signed on 14 June 2019 in Bishkek in the second reading.
According to the Deputy Health Minister Madamin Karatayev, the document implies development of cooperation and strengthening of Kyrgyz-Indian ties in the science and medicine sphere, studying and solving the issues of high-mountain zones, the development of methods to improve human adaptability to high-mountains.
Around 14 researchers of Kyrgyzstan will be involved into the project.
The memorandum will allow Kyrgyz health professionals to apply for $850,000 grant for a 5-year period.
