MP asks government to provide assistance to Naryn residents hit by mudflows

AKIPRESS.COM - Most houses that were damaged after mudflows in Naryn region are not insured, MP Almaz Baatyrbekov (Kyrgyzstan) said during the Parliament's meeting. He added that around 60 houses were damaged after mudflows and asked the government to provide assistance to the affected citizens.
Baatyrbekov also reminded that there is risk of repeated mudflows.
"It might rain till June 9. The Ministry of Emergency Situations needs to clear the roads and flooded yards," Baatyrbekov said.
According to him, many citizens in social networks express readiness to help. The MP suggested to open the account for donations.
Earlier Turmush reported that mudflows struck Naryn after heavy rains. Mudflows damaged houses in Batysh, Alma-Bak, Ak-Korgon areas.
