Around 80 women stranded on Kyrgyz-Uzbek border seeking to return to their families in Uzbekistan

AKIPRESS.COM - Around 80 women, citizens of Kyrgyzstan, married to Uzbek citizens gathered on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border seeking to cross the border into Uzbekistan, Turmush reported. They want to get home, there are pregnant women and women with young children among them.
One of the women, Irada Jorobaeva from Suzak district, Jalal-Abad reigon, said she is married to a man from Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
"I came to visit my parents in Kyrgyzstan at the beginning of March. With outbreak of pandemic and closure of the borders, I can't return to my husband. We ask the Presidents of two countries to let us cross the border," Irada said.
A group of women was earlier allowed to cross the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border into Uzbekistan to reunite with their families.
