AKIPRESS.COM - A treaty between Mongolia and the Russian Federation on Friendly Relations and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership was signed between the heads of the two countries on September 3, 2019 during the state visit of President of Russian Federation Vladimir Putin to Mongolia at the invitation of President Kh.Battulga, Montsame reports. The treaty was submitted to the State Duma of the Russian Federation for ratification on June 8. Earlier, on May 29, the Government of Russia discussed the draft bill on ratification of the treaty and presented its decision to the President Vladimir Putin and set to submit it to the State Duma.
The Parliament of Mongolia adopted a bill on ratifying the Treaty on Friendly Relations and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Mongolia and the Russian Federation on November 29, 2019 and the treaty will come into force on the day the sides exchange letters of ratification.
The treaty is an international agreement that respects Mongolia's independence, sovereignty, security, territorial integrity, inviolability of borders and human rights. According to the treaty, the two sides agreed to expand the traditional and good-neighborly friendly relations established between the two countries in the framework of a comprehensive strategic partnership in all fields, including politics, economy, trade, business, infrastructure and humanity.
