Preparedness of tourist police checked in Issyk-Kul region

AKIPRESS.COM - Regional policemen in Issyk-Kul are responsible for tourists' safety and prevention of crimes with the beginning of summer touristic season, local police department's press service reports. Now the police have to adapt to working amid coronavirus pandemic.
According to region police chief Ulan Asanbaev, in previous years tourist police demonstrated good results during winter and summer seasons.
Tourist police will patrol tourist zones in Ak-Suu, Tyup, Jety-Oguz and Ton districts. In Karakol and Cholpon-Ata they will patrol 13 routes.
"Our purpose as of military is to serve to society. We shall correspond to high professional and moral criteria so tourists and local people will trust us," head of tourist police department Omurbek Umetaliev said.
Local policemen attended English language courses and are able to help foreign tourists. They will also carry out outreach work among locals and tourists on COVID-19 containment.
