AKIPRESS.COM - "My husband is a good man. I forgave him," the woman told Turmush correspondent after the video of the scene of her torture by husband went viral and caused public outcry in Kyrgyzstan. The man tied the hands of his wife, put tires filled with rocks on her shoulders and kept pouring the cold water on the woman's head slapping into her face. He made another woman to take the process on camera.
"My husband always tells the truth. He is not that cruel person people call him now," the woman said.
"I have forgiven my husband. We have lived together for 26 years. This is the first time such thing happened. Probably when I left him [to go to the wedding], he felt bad. He was angry that day and some misunderstanding happened. We quarreled before, but he never battered me hard. Misunderstanding happens in each family. I was very ashamed of seeing the video spread online. I thought about further life of my husband, my son and my life. Internet users wrote various things about our family. In general, my husband is an open man with cheerful disposition. He is a respected person, he has higher education," she said.
"This happened so fast... Relatives of my husband and my relatives try to keep our family. This is my goal as well. My husband regrets of his act. I believe everything will be fine in our family. I plan to get my son married and live many good days yet," the woman said.
The son of the couple, Dastan, said his mother and he decided to forgive the father. The young man does not want his family to fall apart.
"We live with mother now. My mom is a nurse. My father has higher education. I have not seen my parents quarreling since early years. I have not seen my father beating my mom. On the day of the incident I was in Osh. My father got angry that the mother went to the relatives for wedding and stayed their longer than planned. Their divorce would be hard for me," the young man said.
