AKIPRESS.COM - The National Hospital in Bishkek has 450 beds and 3 COVID-19 centers, including 130 beds in urology center, 120 beds in the Second World War Veteran's Hospital, 200 beds in the neurosurgery department, where around 500 people receive treatment, Hospital Chief Akylbek Usupbaev said.
80% of cases are patients in serious condition with community-acquired pneumonia.
Around 140 hospital workers are on sick leave, 35 of them tested positive for coronavirus.
Some medical workers were recalled from leave, the Hospital Chief said.
"I would like to thank all those who keep providing aid to us. Our supervisor Deputy Prime Minister Akram Madumarov visits us twice a day. He supported accommodation of 40 medical workers in Kyrgyz Altyn hospital, 60 workers in Aichurek hospital. He financed construciton of 4 shower rooms and a boom gate, Usupbaev said.
The Hospital Chief also thanked the MPs who cover arrival and accommodation of 26 medical workers, who arrived from Moscow. He thanked the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Health that helped with hospital security guards, attraction of investors, supply of oxygen concentrators and personal protective gear.
Usupbaev also thanked the banks that supported medical workers of the National Hospital, handed over oxygen concentrators.
"I am grateful to all my colleagues and my students, who raise funds for purchase of pulse oxymeters, concentrators," he added.
"We have a critical shortage of hospital attendants, disinfectors. I do ask all those who can work here. I invite doctors and nurses to work with us," Usupbaev said.
