PM Boronov: More than 3,000 oxygen concentrators available

AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan purchased 1,500 oxygen concentrators. 200 concentrators will arrive tomorrow. 1,300 concentrators are already used in hospitals. This figure does not include humanitarian aid and the concentrators handed over by various projects, Prime Minister Kubatbek Boronov said today.
More than 600 oxygen concentrators were available in medical facilities before. So, more than 2,200 oxygen concentrators are available at healthcare organizations now, the Prime Minister said.
"We should bear in mind that sponsors, international institutions handed over oxygen concentrators. If we add them, we will have more than 3,000 oxygen concentrators. The Ministry of Health said earlier Kyrgyzstan needs 2,250 oxygen concentrators. If used reasonably, there should not be a shortage of oxygen concentrators," the Prime Minister noted.
The government will buy more concentrators if spike of cases will persist, he added.
"We ordered 1,000 concentrators in China, probably we will buy 500 of them. We plan to supply 2 concentrators to each medical and obstetrician facility. The aid from Qatar - 400 concentrators, and Turkey is expected," Boronov said.
With all arrived and expected concentrators their shortage will be addressed in the country, the PM said.
