Longest container train arrives in Turkmenistan from China

AKIPRESS.COM - The longest container train has arrived in Turkmenistan from China in transit through Kazakhstan, Turkmenportal reported with reference to the Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan.
The train of 48 40-foot containers departed from China's Qindao 2 weeks ago and arrived in Turkmenistan on September 9. The train will reach its final destination Anev station on September 11, having passed 8,780 km in total.
Launch of the container line from China to the Caspian Sea was made possible due to Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan-Iran railway, one of the links of North-South international transport corridor that was launched in 2014.
Turkmenistan shipped the first container trainer to China last year.
Such cargo transportation in both directions will be made 2 times a month in the nearest time.
