State Penitentiary Service signs MoU on access to basic healthcare services for prison inmates amid COVID-19 pandemic

AKIPRESS.COM - The State Penitentiary Service, Ministry of Health, Ombudsman's Office, Soros Foundation - Kyrgyzstan, Public Foundation Lawyers for Human Rights signed memorandum of understanding on respect of human rights in delivery of healthcare services amid COVID-19 pandemic in prisons on September 22.
The parties will help protection of human rights in prisons through providing access to basic health care services, coordination of actions between healthcare organizations and penitentiary institutions, improvement of provided healthcare services, creation of safe conditions for patients and personnel.
Medical personnel will be provided with personal protective gear. Medicines and medical supplies for coronavirus treatment will be purchased.
