Pre-trial investigation launched into vote buying in Kara-Suu district of Osh region

The video was spread across social media, showing a man counting banknotes put into envelopes. Social media users said police foiled the attempt to buy votes by one of political parties. They said the incident occurred in Mady village, Kara-Suu district.
The Osh region police department confirmed it receved a report about distribution of money by representatives of unidentified political party in Nariman rural municipality. The police group sent to the area found out that on September 25 that a representative of one of the political parties "B." handed over 5 envelopes with money inside to the 56-year-old resident of the rural municipality. The party representative allegedly asked to keep this money until the time when they would distribute money together.
The citizen decided to surrender money to police. The protocols were completed at the scene and the envelopes were seized. The total sum of money in the envelopes made 313,000 soms.
