President Jeenbekov urges political leaders to return to legal framework

AKIPRESS.COM - President Sooronbai Jeenbekov has addressed people of Kyrgyzstan in connection with the current situation in the country, the president's press service reported.
"Kyrgyzstan sees the most difficult period now. None power or post is above human life.
"As you know I did not jeopardize human lives and did not give order to use force against those who broke into the White House. I received insistent offers to crack down on protesters with force. I was absolutely against such option. This would have led to clashes. This is why I have not signed the order to declare the state of emergency. "There were lots of citizens in the regions who would like to hold rallies in my support, I asked them not to do that. We have seen in these days how it is dangerous to divide people.
"Those who attained their goals and got posts! It is necessary to stop your supporters who continue street actions. I urge their organizers and political leaders to return to legal framework!
"I am grateful to youth who demonstrated civic engagement in such difficult time. Without sleeping whole night, you protected peace, property of citizens and the state, I am very grateful to you for that.
"These days showed values some have. In these days, you, young Kyrgyzstanis, served a worthy example for elder citizens, who fought for power.
"You demonstrated one again that you care about Kyrgyzstan, not power. You proved indeed that interests of the country are above all.
"I call all parties for patience and restraint. I remind one more time that interests of the state are above personal ambitions.
"I am convinced that we will find the way out of the situation through the joint efforts.
"The most important task for today is to keep peace and public order in Kyrgyzstan! Interests of the country are above all for all of us," the President said.
