President Jeenbekov: 'As soon as Kyrgyzstan returns to legal framework, I am ready leave my post'

AKIPRESS.COM - President Sooronbai Jeenbekov today made another address to people of Kyrgyzstan in connection with the current political situation in the country.
The text of the statement was e-mailed by the president's press service.
"The political situation in the country has reached a critical point.
To regulate the current situation, we need to make the following steps. The parliamentary election results have been invalidated. New parliamentary elections should be scheduled. The Central Election Commission will make the decision on this. These measures will allow to downsize the current political tension.
It is necessary to dismiss the Prime Minister and the government members, who worked before the crisis. This will create legal grounds for new appointments. Legitimization of new prime minister and government members will require resolution of the Parliament and the presidential order. I am ready to sign respective orders, I am waiting for resolutions of the Parliament.
Law enforcement agencies should ensure safety for parliamentarians to enable them to perform their duties.
I intend to legitimize the ongoing staff changes. No post is above integrity of the state, unit of people and peace of the society for me.
It is necessary to return the current situation to the legal framework as soon as possible. After legitimate heads of executive agencies are approved and the country has returned to legal framework, I am ready to leave the post of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.
I urge all political forces to keep peace and tranquility in the country, not to divide people and split the society. Let the God give wisdom and patience to all political force!"
