AKIPRESS.COM - The first freight train is expected to arrive in Tashkent from China on October 25, Dunyo news agency reported.
The train departed on October 12 from the smart port in Shijiazhuang, Hebei, of Ibo holding for intermodal freight transportation.
The train of 50 cars is carrying medical supplies, bicycles, car parts, spare parts for industrial equipment and other goods for 30 million yuans in total (around $440,000).
At least 12 freight trains will be sent from Shijiazhuang to Central Asia every month.
The project is believed to accelerate Built and Road Initiative, to improve quality of operation and maintenance of railway transportation.
