Kyrgyzstanis win 2 medals at Almaty Online Chess Festival tournament

AKIPRESS.COM - Kyrgyzstanis won 2 medals at the Almaty Online Chess Festival 2020 held on December 9, said the Chess Federation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
A 10-year-old Emir Sharshenbekov took the second place in U-18 category scoring 6 points out of 9.
In the same category, a 15-year-old Aziz Degenbaev took the third place with 5.5 points.
The tournament was attended by 207 chess players of different ages from Azerbaijan, Algeria, Belarus, Israel, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan and Ukraine. The tournament was held online at chess.com using the Swiss system with 9 rounds and time control of 15 minutes and 10 seconds.
The prize fund of the tournament was 800,000 tenge ($19,000).
