AKIPRESS.COM - Uzbekistan repatriated 98 people from Syria, 25 women and 73 children among them. 14 children are orphans, UzA reported. In 2019, Uzbekistan repatriated 220 citizens, women and children, from Syria and Iraq in the framework of Mehr [Mercy] Humanitarian Operation.
"Repatriated citizens are now accommodated in a medical facility, provided with hot meals, clothing and all other supplies. They are provided with medical and psychological assistance. Children are placed in preschool institutions, secondary schools, and women are being employed. They are returning to a healthy, peaceful life. Necessary conditions are created for their full adaptation. Appropriate work will be carried out to issue passports, birth certificates and other necessary documents," said the report.
