Work on extradition of ex-President Bakiev ongoing - General Prosecutor

AKIPRESS.COM - The extradition request for ex-President Kurmanbek Bakiev was sent to Belarus, General Prosecutor Kurmankulv Zulushev told reporters today.
The international department of the General Prosecutor's Office is continuing work in this regard, he said.
"New requests were not sent since my appointment, since there are no grounds for that," Kurmankul Zulushev stated.
"We have not received reply to earlier sent extradition request. You know the replies were received before that," he said.
Extradition request was also sent to the United States for ex-Deputy Prime Minister Askarbek Shadiev.
Several extradition requests sent to Belarus for ex-President Kurmanbek Bakiev were turned down by Belarus authorities, who said the case is politically motivated.
