AKIPRESS.COM - Ex-President Almazbek Atambayev should be brought to the Koi-Tash events trial and ex-MP Ravshan Jeenbekov should bring apologies, Oktom Mamaeva told a press conference today in AKIpress. Oktom Mamaeva is mother of the deputy commander of State National Security Committee's special task force Alfa, Usenbek Niyazbekov, who died in the special operation in Koi-Tash village on 7 August 2019 during storming of residence of ex-President Almazbek Atambayev.
She reminded the trial lasts more than a year. The judge was replaced, the criminal case was united with other cases. Ex-President Almazbek Atambayev is defendant in all cases, she said.
Mamaeva said the trial was postponed several times in connection with that ex-President Atambayev was not delivered to the courtroom. Atambayev asked to hold trial in his absense. He said he is unwell.
Mamaeva said Atambayev's supporters insult her at trial. She said ex-MP Ravshan Jeenbekov, who is one of co-defendants in Koi-Tash events case, at the trial called her son a killer.
"I demand apologies from him or I will sue him," the woman said.
Mamaeva demanded that Almazbek Atambayev should be brought to the courtroom and should be held accountable in line with the law.
Ravshan Jeenbekov in turn told AKIpress he does not intend to bring apologies for his words.
"They are free to sue me, I am not going to apologize. We saw the video showing how the special task force officers acted in Koi-Tash. Only they had weapons. They beat innocent people and used weapon against them. The mother of Usenbek Niyazbekov is not interested in finding a real killer of her son. She designated the guilty herself and calls all of us killers without any grounds. She keeps talking about this for a year and a half," Ravshan Jeenbekov said.
