AKIPRESS.COM - Schools and kindergartens will not be closed in Bishkek, Education Department Chief Elvira Imanalieva told a press conference on April 8. The local authorities made the decision yesterday that school students of grades 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 9, 11 will continue attending schools, while students of grades 6, 7, 9, 10 will continue online learning.
"We will have elections on April 11. Polling stations are based in 14 kindergartens. To prevent contacts between voters and children, we decided to close kindergartens since today until April 14. Schools will be closed on April 12 and 13. Students will have online classes for 2 days," Elvira Imanalieva stated.
Schools and kindergartens will be disinfected on April 12 and 13. Students and children will return to schools and kindergartens on April 14, she said.
"Parents can choose form of education for their children. If they fear for health of their children, they may submit application for online education of their children at home," the Education Department Chief stated.
105,000 children attend schools now. Over 2,000 study remotely.
