Lawmakers slam Kyrgyz police for inaction in high-profile case of murder of abducted Aizada Kanatbekova

AKIPRESS.COM - MP Dastan Bekeshev today has asked to invite the Interior Minister to the plenary session of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan in connection with the high-profile case of abduction for marriage and murder of 27-year-old Aizada Kanatbekova.
"Lawmakers are dissatisfied with work of police in this case. Police failed to act promptly. We need to consider dismissal of the Interior Minister for inaction, slow reaction," MP Bekeshev suggested.
MP Bekeshev was supported by his colleagues - MP Natalia Nikitenko (Ata Meken), MP Aisuluu Mamashova (Ata Meken).
MP Nikitenko demanded the Interior Minister to come to the plenary session of the Parliament.
"Aizada is an ordinary girl, not a daughter of an official. I am very sorry that Aizada was not a daughter of some high-ranking official. How many lives were ruined, how many women were killed, beaten, raped... We focus on economy, safety all the time. We are engaged in politics all the time. As Speaker you needed to raise this issue yourself," MP Mamashova told Speaker Talant Mamytov.
"This is a big tragedy for us. We should consider this issue definitely," Speaker Talant Mamytov said.
Aizada Kanatbekova was abducted by the 36-year-old man she knew in the morning of April 5. Her mother reported to police about abduction of her daugher. The police had information on plate number of the car where Aizada was taken forcibly. It took two days to find the car with the bodies of Aizada and her abductor inside. The car was found by the shepherd, who reported to police. According to preliminary information, the man stangled Aizada and then stabbed himself with knife to death.
