MP rebukes Interior Minister for retaining role while 42 police officers were punished for high-profile murder case

AKIPRESS.COM - The Minister of Internal Affairs should be ashamed to put at risk 42 employees who received different types of punishment, said MP Aisuluu Mamashova referring to the recent high-profile abduction and murder of Aizada Kanatbekova leading to firing and reprimanding of 42 police officers. "Your work did not lead to anything good, but instead it led to the deaths of people. You should better work clearly. The minister should have kept employees, investigators, operatives and step down himself. But he chose to stay," she said.
Deputy Interior Minister Oktyabr Urmambetov asked the MP to say that to the Minister himself.
"Allright, I'll tell him. But he had to show up personally so that you did not have to hear this all. You need to study how to improve the efficiency of your work," Mamashova said.
Working groups have been set up to amend the laws, Urmambetov said.
