Politicians Omurbek Tekebayev and Duishonkul Chotonov cleared of charges by court

AKIPRESS.COM - The Pervomai district court of Bishkek acquitted Omurbek Tekebayev, former member of the Parliament, and Duishonkul Chotonov, former Minister of Emergency Situations. The decision was announced April 13. Judge Ainura Satarova reviewed the criminal case against Tekebayev and Chotonov in the case of receiving a bribe from Russian businessman Leonid Maevsky in exchange for the sale of Alfa Telecom.
They were acquitted due to the absence of crime elements. The court also granted the right to rehabilitation.
The arrest imposed on March 15, 2017 on the property of Tekebayev, his wife and Chotonov was cancelled.
The judge's decision was applauded in the courtroom.
