EU welcomes agreement on ceasefire on Kyrgyz-Tajik border

AKIPRESS.COM - Foreign Minister of Tajikistan Sirojiddin Mukhriddin held a phone conversation with EU Special Representative for Central Asia Peter Burian on April 29, the Tajik Foreign Ministry said.
The Tajik-Kyrgyz border situation was discussed during the conversation.
The Foreign Minister of Tajikistan briefed Ambassador Burian about the current situation in border areas and actions undertaken to cease fire, reached agreement on further normalization of the situation with use of political and diplomatic means.
The EU Special Representative welcomed the reached agreement on ceasefire and expressed readiness of EU to provide technical assistance in implementation of joint cross-border projects and programs.
