President signs into law amendments allowing external management in Kumtor in case of environmental breach

AKIPRESS.COM - President Sadyr Japarov signed into law amendments to law on joint-stock companies and Criminal Code. The law was passed by the parliament on May 6, 2021.
The law allows introducing external management in companies that have committed violations of the requirements of subsoil protection, environmental and industrial safety, creating a threat to life or health of people working or living in the mining area.
The Criminal Code was added by an article introducing liability for violation of restrictions for the management bodies of a joint stock company in case of introduction of temporary external management.
The law comes into force immediately after its official publication.
