Kyrgyz Health Ministry wants to prohibit health professionals to combine work in public and private health care organizations

AKIPRESS.COM - The Ministry of Health wants to prohibit health workers to combine work in public hospitals and private health care organizations, Minister Alymkadyr Beishenaliev said at the meeting of the Budget and Finances Committee of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan on May 31.
"We have a suggestion for the Parliament. A medical worker who works in a private healthcare center shoud not work in public medical facilities and vice versa. Since they receive patients in a public hospital in the morning and then offer treatment in a private clinic in the afternoon," the Health Minister said.
"It is wrong to restrict work of health professionals. Why not create same work conditions in public medical facilities like those in private medical centers? I can understand doctors, they have to work in two organizations as their salaries are low," MP Burun Amanova said.
The Health Minister said lots of medical equipment for treatment of patients was purchased for for public hospitals for 1-2 years.
